11+ Mock Challenge

Sit it whenever you're ready · free · Years 4 to 6

any time

There are no fixed dates: choose a quiet time when your child is ready, such as a weekend morning a few weeks before the real test. A full practice 11+ under real exam conditions: four timed sections and 60 multiple-choice questions. It covers the skills that come up in most grammar-school tests, so your child gets used to the timing and the question types before the real thing. At the end you get a score for each section and a list of what to practise next.

Section 1 · 15 minEnglishA reading passage with 8 questions, then spelling, punctuation and grammar
Section 2 · 12 minVerbal reasoningLetter and number codes, series, word meanings, hidden words, logic

Have a pencil and scrap paper ready. No calculator. The child works alone. You can take a break between sections, but once a section starts its clock keeps running. The name stays on this device: nothing is sent anywhere while your child works.

Rules (terms and conditions)
  1. Promoter: Skillpedia Ltd, 16 Westway, Oxford OX2 0JH, United Kingdom (eskillpedia.net).
  2. Who can enter: children in school Years 4, 5 or 6 who live in the UK, entered by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over. Entry is free and no purchase is necessary.
  3. When to enter: there are no fixed dates. The parent chooses when the child sits the mock. Prize claims must be emailed within 30 days of finishing. Skillpedia may end or change this offer by giving at least 30 days' notice on eskillpedia.net; any result finished before the end date can still be claimed within 30 days.
  4. How to enter: answer 60 multiple-choice questions in four timed sections: English (15 minutes), verbal reasoning (12 minutes), maths (15 minutes) and non-verbal reasoning (12 minutes). A break is allowed between sections, but once a section has started its clock keeps running, even if the page is closed. Each child receives a different paper of the same kinds of question, chosen at random from a large bank.
  5. One entry per child. The child must work on their own, with a pencil and scrap paper but no calculator. A grown-up may help with the buttons but not with the answers.
  6. Marking: answers are marked automatically; each correct answer scores 1. There is no negative marking. The marking is final.
  7. Awards: 48–60 correct: Distinction; 38–47: Merit; every child who finishes all four sections: Certificate and section report. Certificates are given on screen straight away and can be saved.
  8. Prizes: every Distinction claimed by the deadline wins one printable Skillpedia book (PDF) chosen by the parent from the shop at eskillpedia.net, sent by email within 14 days of the claim. There is no cash alternative.
  9. About the score: this is a practice paper. The score is a raw mark out of 60, not a standardised score, and it does not predict the result of any real 11+ test. Skillpedia is not connected to, or endorsed by, any grammar school, local authority or test provider.
  10. How to claim: email the claim code shown on the results screen, the child's first name and initial, and their school year to info@eskillpedia.net. Only the parent or guardian may claim.
  11. Checks: Skillpedia may ask a Distinction winner to do a short second paper online, with a grown-up present, before sending a prize. Claim codes that do not match a valid result, and entries that break these rules, will not receive a prize.
  12. Your data: this page sends nothing while your child works; the name stays on your device. When you email a claim we use your email address and the details you send only to check the claim and send the prize. We keep them for 12 months and never use them for marketing unless you separately ask to hear from us. Winners are not published.
  13. Changes: Skillpedia may change or cancel the challenge only for reasons beyond its control, and will then announce it on eskillpedia.net. Awards already won will still be given.
  14. These rules are governed by the law of England and Wales.
